The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provides funding for transit related services that assist the seniors & individuals with disabilities.

Transit Development Plan (TDP)

The intent of the TDP is to guide operational changes and capital investments in the short-term to enhance the system, provide an improved experience for existing riders, and attract potential new customers.

Service

the M provides fixed route and paratransit service within city limits of Montgomery Alabama. The fixed route system averages 4500 trips daily (more than 1,000,000 trips annually) over approximately 4000 daily route miles. Thirty-four buses serve fifteen (15) fixed routes between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

 

Paratransit service provides 140 daily trips and totals approximately 43,000 annual trips. Paratransit operates 6 days a week from 5:00 am to 9:30 pm, with a fleet of 11 vehicles.

MATS offers passes at reduced rates

Passes may be purchased at the M.A.T.S. office located at 2318 W. Fairview Avenue and at the Intermodal Transfer Center on Molton St. The price of the 31 day bus passes are $45.00 for regular fare, and $25.00 for students/seniors/disabled.
